Of geese and computer boys

Truly, isn't he the cutest little boy? The blue eyes, the curly hair, the highs, the lows. Some woman is going to have her hands very full someday, lol :) He is such a unique little person, very full of life, sometimes exasperating, often a joy to be around. These picures were taken pre-goose bite. Yup, that is right, Isaac got bit by a goose. He walked up to a goose at the zoo and he pecked at him and he backed away and came after him and bit him on the face. He said, "Ducky bit ma face". I don't think he'll be walking up to any geese any time soon.

Daddy and Liam fiddling on the computer. Just like guys.
The second one has a funny story. I had put Issy to bed in my room at naptime the other day and about five minutes later i decided that i had cold feet and was going to put some socks on. So i snuck in my room and instead of Issy on the bed, there was a big lump of blankets and a little tail sticking out the end. Ewok often sleeps with Issy, so i wasn't surprised about the tail, but i was a little bit concerned she couldn't breathe, so i decided to dig her out. And i sifted through the covers and pulled and tugged and she had really wedged herself in there under the covers. After i finally dug her out (and managed not to wake her) i took a picture. And this is it :)

He grows!

Alright, this is getting ridiculous. He started standing last week. Not quite seven months old. At the time, he still couldn't sit really well, and so he would just kinda fling himself backwards when he was done. Luckily, he has been working on the sitting this week and is getting much better (as evidenced by the picture below). He crawls on things and pulls himself up in places he can't get out of and it disgruntles him. He has been very moody the last couple of days. Between all his new tricks and the teeth, life is get very new for him. And exhausting for his mommy.

And today he tried his first taste of solid food... sweet potato. The actual eating part didn't produce much, but he had a good time squishing it in his fists ;) My little boy grows too quickly!

Issy's party

Her godmother made her a fantastic princess cake. She was so excited, between the princess cake and the ballerina outfit, i think she had a good party :)

My Issy's birthday!

Well, it isn't until tomorrow, but since she is having a party tomorrow night and i will frantically be cleaning and getting ready till the last minute, so i thought i would post this now when i have the time to procrastinate. My baby girl is going to be four! Four! It seems like she was just born (and then i remember that i have had two others since then). Ahhhh, i remember the expectation, the anticipation, how hard those first few sleep deprived weeks are. Amazing the journey she has taken us on. Having her made me a Mama, a woman. So miraculous. Such a sweet (and sometimes ornery) gift. She teaches me new things everyday. She is such a sweet little soul and i am so happy i was chosen for her :)

Little bit of knitting, loooots of cute kids!

I made this little itty bitty baby hat for a raffle our doula group did at the LLL area conference this past weekend. It is just like the hat i made for Liam right after he was born, my very first project. I can't believe Liam was ever small enough to fit into a hat like that.
Here he is, in his cute cloth diapered tushie. It is a toddler sized prefold to accommodate his big bum!
My sweet Issy :)
Issy and Isaac on the tire swing at the park today. We also fed the ducks and they went down the slide repeatedly. I wasn't quite sure i would be able to pull Ise away.

Watching a movie together. Notice the little sleepy one in the armpit... so adorable!
Liam was trying to gnaw on his cousin Annika tushie. They are the best of friends, he brings on the best in her :) They were at each other's births!

Liam has two teeth now and the crawling is old hat now. Now he is trying to pull himself up on things! Apparently he didn't get the memo that he is only 6 (well, almost seven) months old!

Good things

I was putting Liam to sleep tonight. He was being restless nursing, so i snuggled him up and took him to the room and just held him. He was just asleep in my arms. And it was good. I wish i could capture that moment it time and put it in a bottle. Time goes by too quickly

First real trip outside

It was beeeee-u-ti-ful yesterday, so we went outside and Liam got to play on a blanket. He was very happy! He is getting his first tooth and is going from army crawl to real crawl. I am not ready for him to get bigger! Stay my little baby!

yarn and finished sweaters and capris

I went to the LYS and got a little bit of yarn today (with the kids!) It was brief, and they were good :) So good, in fact, that the owner of the store gave them crackers...
The one skein is bamboo in different shades of browns and gray and cream. I am going to make a Dream Swatch Headband. That is, after Easter. The yellowish peachy yarn is for a Tea Party Dress for Issy and the blue is for vests for the boys. I am going to have to knit a lot for the next few weeks to finish it though... less time for cleaning ;)
Some small capris from the Picky Pants pattern for a friends new baby. I used 100purewool, which is heavenly soft.

The Easy Peasy, newborn size. It sure knits up a lot faster when you aren't doing a 2T Just need to weave in ends and put on buttons. I love the way it turned out
