Issy video

Issy took this the other day- I had gone in the garage to throw some stuff away.  I really love it when she turns the camera on herself.  She is starting to sound like a Wisconsin girl :)

Enjoying the weather

All the ones above are from an afternoon of playing in the woods and sitting on a blanket reading a book together.

And these are from the other evening, when we had our first fire in the fire pit.  Issy took the bottom two pictures :)

It has been super duper fantastically beautiful here, for the most part, since our arrival. Spring came early to Wisconsin, which I very much appreciate, and it has made the transition so much easier. The kiddos have had a lot of outside time, playing in the sandbox, collecting sticks for our firepit, soaking up the sunshine.  Life isn't perfect, but I think it might be as close as it gets :)

Issy's birthday and her pictures!

Joe was out of town on her actual birthday, so we did a little family celebration last Saturday, and we gave her the present we bought her. Here she is feeling a little shy (and excited! her cheeks were flushed and her hands were kind of shaking as she opened her gifts) while we sang to her.
Daddy telling her about her gift (a little digital camera) and all the things she could do it with.
Explaining what all of the buttons do and how to get the best pictures.
Some of her good ones- she always asks me to get a bouquet of flowers when we go to the grocery store. I couple weeks ago, I told her I would get her some for her birthday. Liam was also interested in them.
Her dolly with the new clothes that Grandma bought for Issy's birthday. She insisted on dressing Kit up in each outfit and taking her picture. The headband even manages to disguise the scary hair cut that Issy gave her a couple of months ago. Thank you, Grammie and Grandpa!
It seems only right to document the balloon that Issy got for her birthday (that Liam sat on and busted less than 24 hours later). It was the biggest, most obnoxious birthday balloon in the store. RIP balloon.
Her best friend
She looooves her new camera (as her Daddy thought she would). Wore out the batteries in the first day- we will have to limit its use in the future. I'll post some more of her pictures in the future, she has an interesting perspective.

Issy eyes and some hiking

Issy and i took a little hike together a week ago. She did really well. I told her to tell me when to turn back. After we had been walking a while i asked her if she was ready and she told me no, because she wasn't tired yet. I told her she should tell me when she was half-tired, since we would have to walk all the way back. She said, "Well, i was half-tired in the car, but i feel awake now!"

The first two pics are ones i took of her and the other two are pictures she took of some flowers during one of our water breaks. It was great to just spend some girl time together, chatting and hanging out.

A family hike a couple of weeks ago. Joe had us going off path, through a stand of Aspen trees, and up the hill to a rock. It was quite an adventure!

Issy eyes and Knitting stuff

Here is my Issy taking pictures again. I am not quite sure why, but it cracks me up. In this edition of "Issy eyes" we have a picture she took of herself and Liam, me talking on the phone (probably to Michelle), the contents of the toybox, and her foot. There were a lot of other artful shots too :D

My pretty needle organizer that Michelle got me for my birthday. Bee-u-t-full!
My fingerless glove with a mitten flap. Figured it would be good to have my fingers available for zipping coats and doing carseat buckles and then i can keep them all toasty warm during what promises to be a cold cold winter with the mitten flap

Issy eyes

In my previous post, i said that i taught Issy how to operate the camera so that she didn't have to carrying her Daddy's cake and candles to him. So now she really likes taking pictures. The other morning, i was trying to get the boys ready and this is what she was doing.
