I have a husband who is my best friend, my highschool sweetheart and who I am still crazy in love with after almost 15 years together. We have babies... five beautiful, stubborn, imaginative, strong-willed little ones who challenge my wits and sanity every day. I am a lover of God, of birth, of life, of the forest and mountains, of wheat fields. I create things with yarn, needles, my heart and my hands. I am me.

Sledding!
Last weekend we went sledding so we could enjoy what winter has to offer in the North. It was fun (and good exercise!) The kids really love the snow! When they get a little older, we'll have to teach them how to ski. Which i suppose means that i need to learn myself!

Sugar Cookies (or, more appropriately titled) Why my Husband is the Photographer
We made sugar cookies today. It reminded me of making cookies with my Mom when i was little. I always had so much fun decorating them. The kids consumed a lot of the sprinkles as they decorating (and then were realllllly wiggly in Church this evening), but they had fun. And the cookies taste great.
Joe took the pictures. And this is why he is the photographer of the two of us, he takes such beautiful, artful shots :)

Picky Pants on Nolan by TIG
I think i like it though, it is really really happy :)
I did the Picky Pants pattern, added two inches to the inseam (his legs have gotten a lot longer since i started knitting him longies in July) and an inch to the rise. I really like the way that they fit.

O Christmas Tree
On Saturday we trekked out in the snow to get a Christmas tree. And let me tell you, it was an interesting experience. Not like going out to the Christmas tree farm on north Tyler Rd. A few points to consider:
Doing anything with three children under the age of five is tiring.
Trees look a lot smaller outside. I know this. But yet, every year, this point is driven home when we get our tree in our house. I blame my lack of spatial skills.
In relation to the aforementioned point: Somewhat large trees look smaller in a forest full of trees that are 70 feet tall.
I am a much bigger wimp than my children. Or perhaps, they are impervious to the cold.
I really need to do my tree scouting during the summer. The part of the forest we went into is really really lovely, but the trees are all very vertical. Meaning, they get 30 feet tall before they fill out any. That is okay with me... the tree we got isn't your conventional Scotch pine, but it is really lovely. It showcases all the lovely ornaments :)

These were pictures of us watching Daddy. We were hiking down a road, and all the trees were on the hillsides next to us. Joe got to climb up the hills, scout things out, cut down the tree and bring it down.
Issy and Isaac making their very best attempt at climbing up to Daddy. They didn't make it very far.
My hero.
