Watch out, he is on the move!

I walked into the living room the other day, and this is what i saw! I am not ready for him to be mobile!
Uh-oh, i've been caught!
Grace's LTK bucket hat, currently blocking. Um, i am not sure what to do about it. It is beautiful, but it will definitely not fit her. I followed the instructions, made the toddler size, with the depth of a infant size. I washed it in warm and dried it on med. Heck, i even washed it on hot before i blocked it. And it fits Issy, who is considerably bigger than Grace. And the brim flops in Issy's eyes. Her birthday party is tomorrow!
The beginning of the Easy Peasy mentioned in the previous post. I am going to try to dye some more yarn the same color today. *crosses fingers*
My yummy yarn from knitpicks. The left is Wool of the Andes bulky in the Spumoni colorway and the right is Shamrock yarn in Doyle. I liked the Shamrock yarn that i got in the MDC ball swap so much that i bought some in a different color :) I think it wants to be cargos for Liam.

It was a good day!

I was not overly productive on the housework front, although i did get some laundry done... now it just needs to be put away. The kids were pretty great. It has been really good for them to be able to get out of the house this week, with the weather warmer. I wish it would still like this, it has been beautiful.

I had a good day too. Issy and i hung out this evening when Liam went to bed. We watched The Little Mermaid and i knitted. Her baby doll named Rose woke up and had to nurse during the movie and then she put her back in her bassinette. Too funny that girl!

I got my KnitPicks Options and they really are everything they are cracked up to be, i love em! I magic looped the rest of Grace's hat, which is currently blocking. It is beautiful, albeit a little big. Room to grow though, right? So i decided to get started on my Easy Peasy to submit for licensing with LTK and i decided to use the yarn that i dyed (see previous post). It was knitting up beautifully, guage spot on and then i realized that the yarn was going fast and i hadn't even started to do the sleeves. So i look at how much yarn a newborn sweater needs and it is about 4 oz or 210 yds. Wanna know how much of that yarn that i dyed? 3 oz, 158 yds. Wahhhhhh! So sad because it is knitting up so beautifully and the sweater would be gorgeous. I don't want to frog it! I have some more of the same yarn waiting to be dyed, but i am dubious about the colors matching well enough. So i have decided to sleep on it and wait until tomorrow to decide.

PSA: Check and make sure you have enough yarn before you start a project. Always.

turning into one of "those" days

Here is my girl, "knitting" It is one of her favorite activities after Isaac goes to bed. It is really twisting the yarn around a needle and then twisting it around another, but she says things like, "alright, i am going to cast on" and "there is the stitch". So cute :)
My first dyeing efforts. This is wilton cake dye and the colorway is teal, brown and a little bit of copper. I am excited to see how it knits up.
A little koolaid dye. Tropical punch and orange. So pretty and it smells good too, lol!

And here we are knitting together. My little boy is being challenging today. No good naps, which is sad for both of us. Perhaps he'll feel better if we go for a walk

I finally finished the sweater!

I made a hat for Isaac to match the other two. Here are my three munchkins all together. Aren't they adorable (and ornery looking?)
Ahhhh, the sweater for my goddaughter is finally finished (see middle of January). It wasn't that hard, i would just put it down for a couple weeks and then pick it up again. I am glad to be done.
My sister and i had some fun dyeing the other day. I did my boys disana soakers. The red one is koolaid dye and is kinda mottled because it was already heavily lanolized. I actually like the way it turned out. The blue one is koolaid at the top and wilton cake dye at the bottom. Unfortunately, the last time i washed it, i felted it and it no longer fits my chubby legged boy. Oh well, my next newborn will have a cool blue soaker :)

We also did some yarn, and i have pictures of it, but not good ones because i took it before i over-dyed it. I like them a lot better darker. I'll post pics whenever i get around to it

I started Gracie's LTK bucket hat and it is knitting up adorably. I started last night and it is flying. Just have to have it done and wash/dried and blocked by her party on Sunday.

Ack! I got to order some knitpicks for Valentine's day, and despite my stalking the maillady, it didn't come today. I am so excited, i hope it comes tomorrow!

Liam has been sleeping better the last couple of days which is good, very good. It is beautiful today so we got to take a nice long walk. Heavenly for all of us with cabin fever :)

I finished some things!

Last week was bad... very bad. Isaac had a fever on Monday. Liam had a fever on Thursday, slept horrible on Friday during the day and even worse on Friday night. He slept very good today, which made me a very happy Momma! He was just much more pleasant with a good night's sleep and a good night. I am hoping that whatever it was that gave him the fever is what was making him not sleep well and won't return.

I got to knit some this week, though, which is awesome. Michelle came over and we went on a yarn dyeing spree. I made this gorgeous pinky/red and orange combo and we both did a teal, brown with a little bit of copper colorway. I can't wait to see how it knits up.

I made Isaac a hat to match Issy and Liam's and it is adorable. I am finally finished with Alaina's sweater (thank goodness!) I just need to sew up the side, weave in a couple ends and put on the buttons. I ususally procrastinate on this point, but i am so eager to finally get it to her, that it won't take long. If i wasn't so tired and about to go to bed, i would finish it tonight, but given that Liam has been a bit of a wildcard lately, i have no desire chancing staying up late only to have him keep me up half the night. I am not such a good Mom when i am sleep deprived.

I need to get some Size 7 16" circulars and some cotton yarn to make Gracie a bucket hat for her birthday, which is tomorrow! Her party (luckily) isn't till next Sunday though. It is good to have a deadline. Less chance to procrastinate. I should be getting the yarn for Issy's Easter dress in the next couple of weeks, which i am pretty excited about. Her a Anni are going to be so cute together!

I'll post pics of my FO's tomorrow, but for now, i am off to bed, where i hope to sleep peacefully for at least an hour or two before my little son wakes up :)

Shorties for Li!

This is my handsome Liam in the Large Curly Purly Soaker that i knitted for Isaac (who decided last week to potty learn before he could wear the soaker) It is very very tall on him, but looked very cute for the picture, which is a little blurry.
These are the shorties that i made out of the Picky Pants pattern by Little Turtle Knits. I made it from the yarn that i got in the Magic Yarn Ball swap on MDC. I can't wait for it to warm up a little so he can wear them out!

My sillies

Liam giving daddy kisses... in the picture immediatly following, Liam was sucking on Daddy's nose :P

Issy and Isaac were hugging and loving each other. Certainly this is the way things always are... they never fight and they always share ;)
Per Issy's request, i took a picture of her nerdface.

Big week!

So i finally finished the second leg cuff on the shades of blue curly purly soaker i was knitting Isaac. And wouldn't you know that the day that i got it lanolized and ready to wear is the day that he really decided to get into potty learning :P He has been doing fantastic the last couple of days... no accidents at all! Oh well, I have the satisfaction of knowing it if finished and that with the rate that Liam is growing at, it won't be too long before he can wear it.

Wednesday was a horrible day. Liam took three thirty minute naps and wouldn't go to bed that evening and i was fried. Joe watched him while i took a bath and then took Kolbe on a walk in the snow. He is a good man :)
