Issy eyes

In my previous post, i said that i taught Issy how to operate the camera so that she didn't have to carrying her Daddy's cake and candles to him. So now she really likes taking pictures. The other morning, i was trying to get the boys ready and this is what she was doing.

The Party

"Helping" me make the cake
I thought that i should teach Issy to operate the camera while i held the cake with the birthday candles. And this is what she took :)
I had them hold the cake while i took a picture. It is German Chocolate, Joe's favorite.
We got Joe some Foot Cream for his birthday. Yes, this sounds lame. But (a) it is hard to find a good present at the grocery store (b) it is exhausting to load the kids up and take them to Jackson, where i might have been able to find something decent (c) the dry air here has been hard on his feet, impeding hiking, so this was a practical gift and (d) he also got hiking shoes the week before.
A funny picture of Daddy and Liam. I think Liam might have been pinching his nose.

Happy Birthday today!

I know your birthday is on the 27th, i was just trying to be proactive in my blogging last night ;)

Happy Birthday, Hubby!

26 years old today! Can you believe it?! Wow, we have journeyed far in the last 7 years, huh? One wedding, three babies and one 1100 mile move. Who could have guessed?

You are an awesome Dad, loving husband and i am so thankful that your Mom and Dad had a little Joseph this day 26 years ago :)

A FO- Liam isn't a fan

Annika's finished Raglan in the Round. She received it today, so now i can post pictures of it :D
So i decided to try it on Liam because he is a little bit bigger than her, so i wanted to see if it would approximately fit her. He was less than amused, to say the least. Apparently, he doesn't like to wear girl's clothes. Either that, or he just isn't a fan of my knitting :P

Address

For those who have inquired:

Our address is
Marney
PO Box 1114
Driggs, ID 83422

Alright, i will end my shameless plug for mail :D

Rainy day

Ahhhhh, kids after my own heart, knitting :)
Okay, this is kinda random, but it really really amused me. Enough to take a picture. These are a couple of toys of Issy's that Isaac keeps ripping the heads off (twice now). I glued them on once and then he did it again. They look like they are searching for their heads. Perhaps the toy is even better this way :D
My little Isaac Bear

Yesterday he fell asleep on our way to the library and he didn't get a full afternoon nap. I was doing the dishes and making dinner and he was obviously tired, so i sat on the couch to nurse him. He fell asleep and then i had to go unhook Isaac from the chair he strapped himself to, so I laid Liam down. I thought he would wake up but he slept on the floor for a good thirty minutes. Sooooo cute :)

There are a couple of mystery pictures i am dying to post, but i can't for another couple of days... it'll be worth it though!

Old Faithful and THE SOCK

We went to Jackson to Our Lady of the Mountains Church this morning and then up to Yellowstone this afternoon on a whim. It was warm and there were a lot of tourists, but it was pretty cool. I told Joe i would like to go back in September went it wasn't quite as warm :) The first picture is of Joe holding the kids on his shoulders so they could see the geyser. Only his shoulder wasn't quite enough for Isaac... he was requesting to sit on his head. Joe said no and it made Isaac cry. * sigh * Kids ;)

I was a busy girl last night after i blogged and i got the sock all finished! I keep telling Joe how excited i am that i am done and he keeps reminding me that i am only half done. Killjoy ;) I really like it though, and i think that this might be the first thing i have knit for myself in the (almost) year i have been knitting. Now for the other one!

Knitting and stuff

The Curly Purly soaker, inspired by Annika, modeled by Li. It is a size medium but i went ahead and put shortrows in because well, he has a big butt :D I did it in Lamb's Pride, it seems like a fairly sturdy yarn.
The sock, which hasn't been worked on much (though a little) because of Anna's visit and because of the soaker and the rainbow sweater next to it. My knitting ADD had definitely kicked in and i keep casting things on without finishing other things. Annika's sweater hasn't been worked on since the last post, but rest assured, it will be done in time for Kansas winter (i.e. January) I am proud that i finished the soaker though and Li's tushie is appreciative.
Hmmmm, he really likes to dress up, and Issy put him in the ballet costume. Apparently, i need to get more boy dress up clothes!
We went to "Music on Main" on Thursday night. They have bands come and play in a little park off main street in Driggs every Thursday during the summer. They were doing face painting; Issy got a butterfly on her face and Isaac got a turtle on his leg, but it wasn't really picture-worthy by the time we got home.
Issy and i took a little hike today. She then requested to put her feet in the water... she really loves to do that :)

Baby slideshow

I made this for no real reason except for fun and creativity. This slideshow is of my belly right before each baby and the baby that came out a little while later. Issy and Isaac's were the day they were born, Liam's is about 46 hours before he was born since he was a slowpoke ;)

Friends!

Our friend Anna came to visit this week, which we are very very grateful for. Liam loves her so much, he will fall asleep cuddling with her, which he doesn't do for anybody. They are best friends!
It never gets old, the baby soapy mohawk. I love it!
We went to the forest today... the creek is down quite a bit, so we were able to sit by it and put our feet in. This made my children extremely happy. Issy looked at me and said, "How did you know this is what we wanted to do?!"
So i was winding some of this yarn today and thinking how very luscious it is. So much so that i kinda wanted to lick it to soak up some of the lusciousness. (Michelle, you might understand this urge) But i know that this would only leave me with a weird yarny taste in my mouth. But Liam went ahead and sampled it. I wonder how it was? :D
Issy and Isaac got some things in a care package. You should have heard Issy gasp when she saw her jammies :D
We had a picnic in the park in Jackson yesterday.
Isaac helping me make dinner and eating almonds. He has one in between his toes in this picture.

New 'Do!

Isn't he just a handsome fellow? The dry air here was not so conducive to pretty curls... his hair looked crazy all the time. Apparently the humidity in KS was good for holding his little curly hair tight. So Joe and him got haircuts this weekend. Joe is still trying to convince me to get Liam his first haircut but i am not sure i am ready yet. He is still my baby. He must stay my baby for a long time. No big boy haircuts!
Annika's sweater. I joined the body and the sleeves. Next i'll be doing the decreases up to the neck and voila! pretty sweater :)
The sunset the other night. This picture just doesn't quite do it justice, it was quite spectacular!

Sock Update!

Yup, i am just nerdy enough to put the sock on my foot, needles and all. Isn't it beautiful though? I mean, i have never appreciated a sock quite this much. Enough to bare my icky feet and white leg on the internet to model the sock. It is like a hug for my foot. I am very excited about finishing it!

Finished the Halter!

I finished Issy's LTK Halter. She looks lovely in it, but it is um.... generously sized ;) All the better that it will fit her next year right? Wouldn't want all that hard work to be confined to only one season :)
Liam tried his first meal with a spoon today. Lots of chewing on the spoon and rubbing his cheerios and milk around with his hands

Elmo and the Princess Bride were going to a festival yesterday. I took a picture of them before they went :)

Liam did not take very good naps yesterday... one was 45 minutes and one was 30 minutes. Come dinner time, he got very very sleepy. I noticed him starting to nod off and i was afraid he was going to bump his head on the table, so Joe put his hand out for Liam to rest his head on. And the poor little guy fell asleep.
After Joe finished eating, him and Li went to rest on the couch. Pretty darn adorable.

Our Sunday hike. Kolbe fancies himself a real nature dog now. The last one is a little blurry, but it makes me think "Isaac the Explorer". There was a tremendous amount of bugs on our hike the other day. Tremendous. I think nature would be better without so many bugs. Especially mosquitos... really, what purpose do they serve?
This picture is for Brenda... outfit look familiar?

My nephew Robert, who is now fifteen, wore this outfit when he was a baby. *sniff sniff* Was he ever really that small? Is he really fifteen now?

In Knitting News (because i now you are all dying to know):
The sock is coming along quite nicely. I turned the heel yesterday and am now working on the decreases around the ankle. I think that it should be done in the next day or two. Hmmmm, now i am hoping the motivation to do a second sock will come. Or that i will learn to be happy with only one sock in a pair ;)

Issy's shirt is at a standstill. I was actually feeling motivated to work on it yesterday and then i found some puzzling parts in the pattern. I can't really go on until i get them clarified. But after i do, there isn't a lot left to it.

Annika's sweater. I need to do some calculations to alter the sleeves a little. Ugh, math. But then it'll be smooth sailing :)
